Developers, get ready for the adrenaline rush!

BANGALORE: For most people, there is nothing like a good head banging session at a rock concert. The spirits are high and the adrenaline's rushing. For India’s developer army however, nothing can beat a good developer conference — with brainstorming, code-level sessions and discusstions on the future of technology.

The czars of software have set the ball rolling, with their visits to the country. Gates first, then Scott Mc Nealy followed by Paul Otellini. India has become the hottest destination for an array of conferences and for good reason. Where else would you find the largest pool of skilled software professionals bearing the same nationality in their passports!

The festive season for the six lakh plus developers in India begins with technology conferences and forums lined up. The names range from Borland to Texas Instruments to BEA.

Borland is holding its India Developers Conference and offers the three most sought after technologies (J2EE, MS.Net & Delphi) under one roof. In this event, you get to choose technology tracks from J2EE, MS.NET & Delphi. The 2003 Borland India Developers Conference will be held in Bangalore, on November 20, 2003. BEA is holding its dev2dev Days 2003 on 30th October in Bangalore. The conference will cover various technologies such as WebLogic and web services. BEA promises a "code level, technical seminar delivert by expert BEA technologist". The conference also will give away evaluation software and technical publication. For more details, click here.

Texas Instruments is conducting its developer conference in Bangalore on December 3rd and 4th and will showcase the latest TI products and strategies. There will be presentations on DSP and the OMAP platform. For more information you can contact India-univ@list.ti.com.

The 10th Annual International Conference on High Performance Computing (HiPC 2003) will be held in Hyderabad, during December 17-20, 2003. It will serve as a forum to present current work by researchers from around the world as well as highlight activities in Asia in the high performance computing area. The conference has a history of attracting participation from reputed researchers from all over the world.

Other events include the Linux Bangalore 2003 event a Linux/Open Source event. It will feature talks, discussions, workshops, round-table meetings and demonstrations by national and international speakers that cover a diverse spectrum of Linux and OpenSource related technologies ranging from Kernel-programming and Embedded systems to Desktop Environments.

And last but not the least, the much-awaited PCQ Linux conference will be held in 4 cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai — in December.
