'Developers should work better, innovate faster'

BANGALORE, INDIA: “India is a country where we can find more number of talented students and engineers and whenever I visit Bangalore, I feel the passion, energy, excitement and commitment from the huge number of developer community,” said Dr Qi Lu, president — online services division, Microsoft, during the inaugural keynote address of Microsoft TechEd, India 2011.

Addressing the developers on the keynote topic, 'The Cloud: Exciting New Possibilities', Dr Lu added that Microsoft has got the cloud expertise in managing and deploying all the layers of cloud computing with experts.

“We have our own data centers to provide and leverage the cloud services. Using our solutions and expertise, developers can build innovative apps and increase the speed of innovation and stay ahead of the competition,” he said.

He added that developers in India are not only producing software to the country but also contributing to the entire ecosystem of IT. He thanked all the developers gathered at the event for making India as the second largest software developer community.

Sharing inputs on the cloud opportunities, he said that one needs to have key focus to build new capabilities by using all the assets what we have. “All these can happen when one has the ability to scale up or scale sown using our cloud services,” added Qi Lu.

Elaborating on the consumer cloud services, he said, “We can witness a change in the industry landscape and we at Microsoft are ready to serve the market with several partnerships.”

He further added that search engine is a good example for consumer cloud services. “It is the only tool/services, where a consumer is using over the cloud from long time and it can also be referred to as a gateway to the cloud. We at Microsoft are geared to address this with our search engine, Bing.”
