Delta to appoint tier-1 partners

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Delta India is all set to expand its presence in the B and C-class cities and the company is looking at increasing tier-1 partners. Delta will be appointing 10-15 partners who have the right technical knowledge for extending effective power solutions to their customers and have been selling consumer durables.

In addition, the company will also begin manufacturing its UPS range of products from the Rudrapur plant from April onwards.Delta is now planning to expand its product portfolio and will launch a range of on-line UPS for the SOHO segment this year.

Elaborating on the market strategy Deepak Sharma, Director—UPS Sales, Delta Energy Systems mentioned, “In the SOHO segment, it is the product and the service delivery vehicle that will help us grab marketshare. We will be customizing many of our products to suit the requirements of our customers. Delta will also carry out various sales training programs and related initiatives and extending special package to ensure better services for the customer's infrastructure.”

Commenting on the profile of partners Sharma reiterated, “We will be tying up with partners who have the experience of selling IT products and consumer durables. They should have some technical knowledge. We will be looking at expanding in the B and C-class cities too.”

Shedding light on the trends in the demand for UPS, Sharma mentioned that there has been an increase in the demand from the enterprise segment and Delta registered a growth in sales in the range of 10 to 15 percent. In the SOHO and the SME segment there has been an increase in demand in the range of 30-35 percent. He also mentioned that there is a huge demand for the 1KVA-500KVA UPS. Delta will look at increasing business opportunities for their partners and will further help them to increase their profitability.

“We will be extending technology support to them so that they can further scale their businesses. In addition we will also be holding a channel summit to take feedback from our channel partners,” added Sharma.

Delta had organized its first channel summit in August last year at Rudrapur in order to encourage their partners and understand the problems affecting them.
