BANGALORE: Delphi Information Systems, Inc. and Hewlett-Packard (HP) has
announced an alliance to support and promote the world's first insurance
industry portal, ebix.com, including co-branding on all advertising for the
portal. HP will also provide ebix.com, e-service performance through its WebQoS.
HP and Delphi also intend to integrate HP's Presidium e-security solutions to
further protect ebix.com.
As part of the strategic relationship, HP secured a two-year option to invest
in Delphi to establish a sizeable ownership position. "We believe that
vertical next generation portals like ebix.com will significantly change the way
the insurance industry does business," said HP Financial Services Business
Unit insurance industry manager Doug Chisholm.
Delphi Information Systems president Robin Raina added, "We believe that
ebix.com has all the four key ingredients of a successful portal, known as the
four C's - Content, Commerce, Community and Customization. HP's vast experience
in the corporate and consumer markets and their commitment to e-business
provides tremendous strength to ebix.com. Also it will give the insurance
industry the confidence to adopt new business methods and truly reap the
benefits of e-commerce."

this investment has been directed towards embracing Internet technology. An
alliance between Delphi with its track record of bringing agency management
solutions to the market and HP with its track record of technological innovation
will act as a springboard for the insurance industry."
