BANGALORE: Borland will release Delphi 8 and the latest version of JBuilder this December. "Delphi 8 will be globally available by the end of December, and JBuilder will be released earlier in the month. ", says Satyen Parikh, managing director, Indian subcontinent, Borland.

JBuilder is Borland’s most popular tool for developers and has around 60% marketshare worldwide. This tool is up against IBM’s free offering, Eclipse. JBuilder is a cross-platform environment for building enterprise Java applications. JBuilder X speeds EJB, Web Services, XML, mobile, and database application development with two-way visual designers and rapid deployment to J2EE application servers such as WebLogic, WebSphere, Sun ONE, Oracle9i, JBoss, and the Borland’s own Enterprise Server.

Delphi 8 for the .NET Framework enables developers to migrate Win32 applications to .NET. You can use Delphi language RAD development to program the NET framework including VCL Forms, Windows Forms, ASP.NET, Web Forms, Web Services, and ADO.NET.

".NET is an exciting new technology and it’s prospects are good, given the number of machines running on Windows today. " says Nick Jackson, Director of Business Development and Product Solutions, Asia Pacific, Borland. "We see .NET becoming dominant on the client-end and J2EE hogging the limelight on the back-end."
