The Dell Inspiron 14R and 15R will be the first computers to incorporate pre-installed Ubuntu. These PC's will be available for purchase from June 21 in around 850 retail outlets across India.

In addition to this, Canonical will also be providing the Ubuntu software for free although users will be charged if they avail technical support.

This tie-up between Dell and Canonical is to bolster sales of Dell products especially the portable computer series in India.

Whatever the motive, Ubuntu is the sure-cut winner here.
