Dell in talks with storage specialist Compellent

BANGALORE, INDIA: Storage service provider Dell has set its eyes on fluid data storage solutions provider Compellent Technologies Inc.

Reuters reports that in a major move to expand its presence in the hot area of cloud computing, Dell announced it is bidding for storage specialists Compellent Technologies Inc in a deal valued at close to $1 billion.

If the bidding goes on track, Dell would acquire all of the outstanding common stock of Compellent at a price of $27.50 per share in cash.
