Wireless integration between smartphones and PCs is the new trend of 2018. At the CES'18, Dell unveiled a suite of new products and software to address the myriad ways people play and work. In addition to revealing some new devices designed to improve performance, functionality and the overall user experience, Dell took the wraps off its new software solution- Dell Mobile Connect that enables complete wireless integration between Dell PCs and smartphones (iOS and Android).

Pre-installed on all new Dell consumer PCs, Dell Mobile Connect empowers users to make calls, send texts, get notifications and even fully mirror their phones to interact with all their favorite mobile apps.

The new system uses a proprietary blend of Bluetooth and WiFi to let you control your smartphone from your laptop. The software solution is aimed at avoiding splitting your attention between your PC and smartphone while working, studying or playing a game. You will be notified about your phone calls, SMS, IMs and other apps notifications right from your PC screen. You control which specific apps you would like to receive notifications from on your PC.

A lot of those features are already available to Windows users — including notification syncing, through Cortana — but they’re not necessarily presented in such an obvious fashion as they are here.

Dell Mobile Connect has no desktop counterpart right now, as it only supports Dell Inspiron, XPS, or Vostro PCs purchased from January 2018. It’ll also be available for machines from Alienware, Dell’s gaming-focused sub-brand, from January onwards.
