Dell launches PowerEdge 2400

BANGALORE, November 5: Dell Enterprise Systems announced the launch of PowerEdge 2400, a new workgroup server that is the first of Dell’s next generation server products to be introduced this year.

PowerEdge (PE) 2400 incorporates technology and features new to the workgroup server category. These new technologies include the developments in standards-based processors, chipsets, I/O, memory and RAID (offering RAID as an embedded feature). The PE 2400 also incorporates features that are projected to become more prevalent in the workgroup space like optional hot swap/redundant power and hot plug disk drives as standard. PE 2400 incorporates the Intel Pentium III processors with a 133 MHz Front Size Bus as well as 64-bit, peer-to-peer PCI. It also delivers internal storage capacity up to 180GB w/ optional 2x1" drives in media bay.
