INDIA: Dell launched the Dell Computer Literacy Week, an eight-day technology awareness program taking place exclusively at Dell Exclusive stores across the country from November 30 – December 2, 2013.

Dell Computer Literacy Week, coinciding with World Computer Security Day on November 30, 2013 and World Computer Literacy Day on December 2, 2013, is a customer engagement initiative, aimed at promoting awareness about new and more efficient methods of computing among existing and prospective customers.

The Dell Computer Literacy week will feature a series of Educational activities and offers of pre-loaded Educational content on all PCs purchased at any of Dell’s Exclusive Stores (DES). Consumers will benefit from new age apps and pre-loaded tutorials and games on their new Dell products that will help them learn and enjoy a whole new computing experience and compliment their day to day needs. This outreach program is not restricted to the physical space alone.

The entire week will also see activity on Dell’s social media properties and website, inviting people from across the board to learn and share knowledge on various themes related to technology – security, productivity, reliability and the latest developments on the technological front.

The initiative is aimed at creating awareness around the practical benefits of computing technology and security, thereby furthering Dell’s commitment to take PCs to the masses. In the pursuit of educating customers about modern computing, the engagement program is focused on sharing educational content for users like Tips & Tricks and Tech News through the Dell social media channels and with pre-loaded content on new Dell products.

“Dell has long identified itself as championing the cause of driving education through technology. With frequent activity in recent times surrounding Dell’s flagship student outreach initiative, Dell Champs – 2013, the Dell Computer Literacy Week furthers this commitment, by teaching consumers across the board how to leverage technology better to pursue their goals and ambitions. To this end, we are ensuring educational content on Dell products, meant to enlighten people about how modern computing can help them on a daily basis,” said Ritu Gupta, director, Marketing, Consumer & Small Business, Dell India.

“On the occasion of World Computer Security Day and World Computer Literacy Day, we want consumers to know that Dell not only provides the access point to technology, but is also the medium that aids the most efficient and beneficial usage of the power that computing can provide,” she added.
