NEW DELHI: Dell has introduced the Dimension 4400 desktop computer, a new
line that provides customers high-performance Pentium 4 processors,
expandability and popular multimedia features at an affordable price.
The midnight gray desktops feature Intel's new 845 chipset with DDR memory
support, which combines the performance of Pentium 4 with Double Data Rate SDRAM
(DDR SDRAM) memory. The DDR SDRAM has twice the transfer rate of traditional
SDRAM, providing more bandwidth and additional performance for applications such
as digital photos, music, videos and web content creation 1.
The Dimension 4400 series includes an easy-to-open chassis that allows for PCI
card and modem installation without tools. There are two 3.5 inch and two 5.25
inch bays, four USB ports (two in the front), four PCI slots and one AGP slot
for easy upgrades.
A typical Dimension 4400 mini-tower configuration starts at Rs 69,999 and
includes an Intel Pentium 4 processor at 1.8 GHz, 128 MB DDR SDRAM, 20 GB 3 hard
drive, 64MB NVIDIA GeForce2 MX graphics card, 48X max CD-ROM drive, 17 inch
monitor (16 inch viewable), SB Live! sound card, Harmon Kardon HK-195 speakers,
56K PCI Telephony Modem 4 for Windows, floppy diskette drive, Microsoft Windows
XP Home Edition and a one-year limited warranty.
