Dell to improve SMB access and support

HYDERBAD: Dell introduced Dell ProSupport Mobility Services, a suite of modular asset and data protection services for Indian small and medium businesses. Designed to protect the PCs as well as the critical data stored in them, ProSupport mobility offers access, security and support to ensure high availability of IT resources—which in turn is imperative for the SMBs to run their business profitably and productively.

Dell channel services will allow its SMB customers to have a single point of contact for their support requirements through their local channel supplier, increasing access and support choices while backed by Dell expertise.

After the launch of ProSupport services last year that moved away from the industry mold of traditional one-size-fits-all approach, the new ProSupport Mobility services help protect the data and assets anywhere in the world. These include:

Laptop tracking and recovery: Helps companies accurately track and recover lost or stolen laptops.

Remote data delete: Enables customers to remotely delete sensitive company data if a laptop is lost or stolen.

Hard drive data recovery: Retrieves information from a failed or damaged hard drive.

Certified data destruction: Destroys notebook data in a secure manner, providing certification of destruction, and disposing of the customer’s hard drive in an environmentally responsible manner.

CompleteCare accidental damage service: Covers repair and replacement costs associated with accidental damages to laptops caused by spills, drops and surges.

Extended battery service: Expands battery warranties that include the option to replace a battery in the second to third year of system ownership.

“Companies spend too much time managing their PCs, servers and storage; we are out to change that with solutions that improve staff productivity, cut costs and ensure security of critical information,” said Tim Griffin, VP—Global SMB Services, Dell. He added, “Channel services will be a great way for our partners to make money through an expanded portfolio beyond hardware, improve their margins and offer a differentiation to their customers using Dell proven technologies.”
