With the introduction of the e-stamping facility, the Delhi Government aims to do away with stamp papers of all denominations.

"The move is aimed at ensuring hassle-free transactions and prevents fraudulent practices. The exercise for all six district courts has been completed within just three weeks," Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said.

This step towards modernising the judicial system will enable the public and lawyers to get a court fee receipt of exact denomination, irrespective of the amount. This will bring the entire process of remitting court fee to a paperless format.
