David heads Sage Group Strategy

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The Sage Group plc (Sage) has announced the appoinment of David Clayton as director of Group Strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions, an executive board position.

Clayton is currently a non-executive director of Sage and senior independent director. He will take up his new position and join the board as an executive director from 1 October 2007.

Tim Ingram, non-executive director of Sage since 2002 and chairman of the remuneration committee, is promoted to be the senior independent director, effective immediately, taking over from Mr Clayton.

Tony Hobson, chairman, Sage, said, “We welcome David to the Board in his new capacity as Group Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions director and Tim in his new role as senior independent director. David and Tim bring a wealth of experience to their new board roles.”

In his earlier stint he was with Credit Suisse as managing director and head of European Technology Research.
