'Date with .Net'

BANGALORE: BDOTNET Students oragnised 'A date with .Net', a full day event at JSS Auditorium, to bring together the students working on the .NET technologies, in and around Bangalore. "The date was great :)", said Deepthi Bhushan, a BDOTNET student manager.

There were about 160 participants to the event, and the 'dates' for it were Rosa and Ritesh. The event took off with a brief introduction on BDOTNET Student chapter by Kevin D'souza, of Micrososft. Shweta, a student champ from Pune was in Bangalore to address the crowd. Chirdeep and Vishal gave a session on 'Rotor', a shared CLI implementation for a BSD machine.



One of the major hit of the event was the session on 'How to work with a Tablet PC', presented by Deepak Gulati.

Five teams were shortlisted, out of the total 22 for Technical Paper Presentation, and 5 for Software Demonstration, out of a total of 16 participants.

The winners of the Technical Paper Presentation were, Sahana D Shekar, fourth year, JSS ATE, at the first position, the second prize was won by Asif Irfan and Rishi Tiwari, third year students from SIT Tumkur.

The winners of the Software Demonstartion were, Sahana D Shekar, fourth year, JSS ATE and Smitha Sharma Ray, fourth year, SJMIT, Chitradurga taking away the first prize, the second prize was won by Deepti Rao, MSRIT, and the third prize went to Gbzy Gil, Murali, MSRIT.

announced annual subscriptions to PCQuest Magazine for the winners of Technical Paper Presentation and Software Demonstration.

Towards the end there was a quiz on .Net, open to the audience. Ritesh, kept the students involved throughout the event by asking several related questions and giving away Microsoft t-shirts and BDOTNET caps to the winners.
