Data Integration upgrades LSBU to future-proof 10GB infrastructure

LONDON, UK: Data Integration, the network and system integrator owned by Xchanging, announced that it is set to deliver a state-of-the-art 10GB network infrastructure for London South Bank University (LSBU) as its incumbent IT partner.

As a forward-thinking, cosmopolitan university, with over 23,500 students, LSBU draws students from over 130 countries. LSBU is passionate about improving its student and teacher experience, and invests heavily in new facilities and technology to create student opportunity for future success.

Looking to meet both University and student application needs for the next five to seven years, LSBU is undertaking a technology refresh of its network infrastructure. Comprising upgrades of its Infoblox DNS management and Extreme Switching technology, the project sees the University migrating to a future-proofed infrastructure that delivers enhanced control and increased bandwidth.

Adrian Taylor, CTO at Data Integration, explains: "The University relies on IT services that are run between its two distribution centres. However, its network is now seven years old, and they increasingly want to run services that demand 10GB and have been experiencing capacity issues. We've been working with LSBU for over 8 years now, and as an accredited partner for both Infoblox and Extreme, we are ideally placed to deliver this upgrade with round the clock support for them."

Two years ago, Data Integration won a competitive open tender for a four-year contract to supply IT services and support to LSBU. Data Integration now provides LSBU with end-to-end LAN and security services covering its switching, firewall, remote access, and wireless requirements.
