PLEASANTON, USA: The latest option in networked surveillance from Darim Vision delivers crystal-clear H.264 video and advanced analytics in an affordable yet dynamically scalable architecture. Easily integrated into existing systems, Darim’s standalone 16-channel iSP416 Networked Video Encoder (NVE) combines dedicated hardware H.264 encoders and TI DaVinci technology to provide enhanced video surveillance, robust data streaming, and absolute operational reliability for environments as diverse as the local convenience store or the sprawling shopping mall.

In addition to full DVD quality 30fps H.264 per channel performance, the modularized NVE offers the unrivaled ability to stream intelligently analyzed, high-quality video over IP LANs, WANs, and the Internet without a PC, using RTP/RTSP protocols. The uSP416 also includes up to16-channel audio, alarm, and relay capabilities, further enhancing security system functionality.

Networking, control, and client-server management are easily handled via a robust embedded web-server, Darim Vision’s VideoSpider application, or any other video monitoring management application that a customer desires to utilize. VideoSpider is currently deployed world-wide, managing, monitoring, and recording over 100,000 cameras and counting, according to Aaron Taylor, Darim Vision’s Sales and Marketing Manager.

The iSP416’s innovative approach, which embeds encoding and analytics functions on separate chips, significantly boosts performance while lowering implementation costs per channel, enhancing security in large and small installations alike. Advanced video analytics—for example, object-tracking, people-counting, facial recognition, and retail traffic—can be closely monitored. Enhanced motion detection, perimeter outlining, alarm notification, and privacy-masking help prevent false alarms and ensure efficient, highly reliable surveillance management.

“All functions are delivered over the network, eliminating the need for local storage and extending viewing and control options to on-the-go users who can tap into the system wherever they have an Internet connection,” Taylor notes. “The savings in installation costs and equipment overhead make our new NVE a practical solution for a retail shop with just a few cameras all the way up to the mass enterprise level, such as the hundreds to thousands of cameras in a casino or highway-monitoring system.”

Darim Vision will be demonstrating the iSP416 in conjunction with the 2009 ISC West International Security Conference and  Exposition in Las Vegas, April 1–3.
