NEW DELHI: Realizing the fact that servicing is something, which needs to be addressed appropriately and accurately, networking major D-Link is all set to have multi-location component level servicing within the country. “We have always emphasized on service as an integral part of our business objective. And that is why we are going to increase focus towards providing service at the component level for high end products such as modems, NICs, motherboards, managed switches etc,” informed D-Link India Ltd. The company recently started two centers at Delhi and Mumbai for component level service of its product range and by the end of this year it is planning to add Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Kolkata to this list as well. “We think that these are the places where bulk of our business is going in and our customer base is increasing day by day. All our dealers provide front-end support at the end-customer level and with the help of this initiative they will be in a better position to address servicing needs of our customers,” he explained.

Component level servicing would mean that customers at locations such as Hyderabad or Chennai will not be required to send their products to Mumbai or Delhi and service will be provided within the city itself. Extra workforce will be taken to man these service centers at the mentioned places. “It is quite difficult to mention about the strength of each service center but it will be according to the market dynamics and by the end of this year we will have all the centers up and running,” Vyas informed.

The rise of initiatives such as e-governance has created a boom in sales of routers and other networking gear. “These factors will intensify this year, resulting in even higher revenue growth in this area. Education is one such area where we see a lot of opportunity, we are already working closely with IIT Mumbai, Kanpur and Kharagpur," he added.

With a network of about 20 distributing partners in all the states spread all across the country, D-Link is considered to be one of the most vibrant networking companies in the region. “This is a ever changing field, new technological advancements are being made on a monthly basis. To tackle this change the company has a policy wherein we deliver training to our channel partners at our own cost,” he added.

Talking about the trends in the market, Vyas informed that VOIP and wireless technologies are definitely going to be at the helm as far as networking business is concerned. “Growth in these areas is fuelled by demand in verticals such as banking, finance and education as well. Still there are more players in the market now so a lot of competition is there, but players get differentiated on the basis of proper servicing infrastructure and that’s where our customers respect us,” Vyas explained.
