D-Link Q3 net down 17%

NEW DELHI: D-Link India Ltd has registered a 16.95 percent decline in net profit to Rs 6.66 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 from Rs 8.02 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company's total income increased by 35.6 percent to Rs 71.78 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 as against Rs 52.92 crore in the same period last year.



For the nine months period ended December 31, 2004, net sales increased by 21.13 percent to Rs 184.39 crore as compared to Rs 152.22 crore in the corresponding period last year.



D-Link India CMD KR Naik stated, "We are in the consolidation phase; we are strengthening our employee base, our service support footprint and our R&D and software initiative to meet future growth plans. We are investing on product design and development to build products that would do well in the global market."



He added, "With widespread acceptance of broadband we will soon see an increase in adoption of complementary technologies like Wi-Fi, VoIP and Digital Home Solutions."
