Cynapse unveils next generation GPS app for iPhone

MUMBAI, INDIA: Cynapse announces the global availability of Localscope for iPhone and iPod touch, the social data powered GPS tool.

It is designed to make it easy and quick for users to define and explore their location wherever they are in a few taps and safely share it with their friends and family.

According to the release, unlike any other geo social applications, Localscope empowers its users to tap into the collective information from various geo search engines and social networks, currently including Google, Bing, Foursquare, Wikimapia, and Twitter.

Apurva Roy Choudhury, CEO of Cynapse said, "Search engines and social networks have an enormous wealth of geo specialized information. Our vision with Localscope is to let people reference this pool of local knowledge quickly and easily, without having to figure out each of these networks and services independently."

"Our goal is to be the most intuitive search and browse interface to geo specific content and evolve the way people discover their vicinity," he added.

Users can map and get directions to their discovered places, call them directly, or store them as contacts in their address books. In addtion to the above feature users can easily share their findings with friends using SMS, email, Facebook, or Twitter added the release.
