PUNE: Cybage Software Pvt Ltd, based in Pune has major plans for growth. From an existing strength of 500 people, the company plans to induct 300 additional software professionals into the company by next year. By the year 2005, the total headcount is expected to touch 1,300 software engineers.

The company is currently working on 100 such offshore projects.
Cybage recently shifted to a 60,000 sq. feet new office that can accommodate about 600 professionals. Nathani said that the company has invested over Rs 10 crore in this facility. He informed that the next phase would include a campus on the lines of Infosys and the company has already begun scouting for additional space.
Cybage director Deepak Nathani said that the company would be investing an additional Rs 20 crore for the campus which is likely to come up in the next two years. " It all depends on which way the IT industry is going," said Nathani.
Nathani said that the company is currently working for around 32 clients and is on the verge of adding three new partnerships from the US. "We have already begun positioning our senior people to offer better services to the customers," he said. Cybage now plans to tap additional markets in other countries such as Europe, UK and Australia.
The company has begun offering tech support to six of its major customers. "But this is not a BPO as is the generally understood term in the industry. We have set up help desks for our clients and have 20 people working on offering tech support to the customers," said Nathani.
Cybage Software was founded in 1995 to develop innovative productivity tools for the world market. In August 1996, the company diversified from product development to providing offshore software development services to the US IT industry.
