Your top priority while making decisions to improve tech infra in your organization?

At Britzo, our top priority to improve tech infra is moving into new and advanced operations, which are very technology-led. So of course, we are hiring people with these skills and capabilities in mind, developing and training a wide mix of people. Apart from this, we also aim to provide re-skilling or upskilling, to prepare our existing ones for a new role, so that their skillset is competitive and recognised in the market.

Challenges you face in driving digital transformation?

Advertisment

As per me, digital transformation is not about just tossing a new business activity or a new business model that relates to new technology. But, it’s a complete transformation of all you do, and it impacts every part of the organization and the society. It’s about how you approach the market, how you respond to customers, how you provide more customization, and how you integrate this with the back office and the supply chain.

In short, digital transformation is really a different way of thinking. Challenges are very similar to creating a new category in the market and then bringing it to a phase of maturity. In order to develop smarter feature phones, it needs a complete eco-system in place, which is a herculean task in itself as it needs out-of-the-box thinking. It also needs a strong belief on behalf of developers, engineers, and everyone associated with the brand. Once the eco-system is in place, we have to educate the consumer about the benefits of adopting a digital lifestyle.

Do you feel that freshers in the industry come with only basic knowledge but don’t have the right skills to fulfill job requirements? If yes, your suggestion to students and colleges?

Advertisment

In my opinion, this question requires the candidate to put on their management consultant hat and it tests their situational analysis skills, as well as the research they did prior to the interview. Agree, that experience adds value to your organization but if a fresher do understand your business well enough to identify a few things that would be of key importance to the business than they can also be fruitful to you. My suggestion to students is trying to develop your stuff from an organisation perspective and can lead the function with the capabilities, credibility, and confidence.

What’s your mantra to become successful in life?

My mantra of success is that I strive to bring credible and quality content from the relevant experts and through my own research and present it in a very lucid and easily consumable format. Today, this aspect has put me in a great position to lead this space. I believe that in this age, to achieve any kind of success, the company will not only need to have a great product/content but also have a very effective strategy for distribution. I try to focus and invest in those aspects and what I see is the result of that. Another aspect of success for me is to enjoy every moment of Life and look forward to a new tomorrow. When I see the smile in all my colleagues every morning when they come to the office and have the same passion to build products that would delight customers.

Your favorite book and what are you reading now?

Advertisment

My favorite book is “LIFE”, but if you need a name then definitely I would say it’s “Bhagavad Gita”. Being an Indian and small-town boy from Orissa has a special attachment with the teaching of Lord Krishna. I am reading the same and will read for the whole of my life because a life is too short to understand every single teaching it has.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

For this, I would love saying that I am never occupied as even when it’s about the office hours I work as if I have spare time. I am never occupied and I never gate spare time. Everything that relaxes and calms the environment, I do it to my best.
