THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 24/7Customer.com, a call
center firm, has signed a MoU with Kerala Government for setting up a contact
center facility in Kochi. The contact center is to be established in five acres
of land in Kinfra Park in Kochi and is expected to be operational by the end of
the year, according to PV Kannan, CEO of 24/7 Customer.com.
Initially about 500 people would be employed in the contact center and later the
capacity would be extended to 1500 seats. The main advantage of Kochi is that it
provides international connectivity and good bandwidth with the commissioning of
SEA-ME-WE and SAFE cable landings. The company is likely to shift its base to
Kochi if the first year's performance in the new destination is successful,
Kannan said.
Recently the state government had
announced the setting up of an ITES training center in Kochi with private
participation to cater to the prospective companies planning to set up ITES
operations there.
