The latter offers bandwidth management and optimization solutions, which in a nutshell are technologies that reduce non-productive usage of bandwidth on a network by defining the bandwidth offered for each Internet protocol on network.

Pursuant to its decision to now start marketing Allot with fervor, Cubix will conduct partner training programs in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata.

The training will be conducted in phases starting with Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru between Dec 18-20, 2008 followed by the other cities in January 2009.

The program will attempt to train leading partners about the technical details of Allot's range of products known as 'Net-Enforcer' and 'Net-Explorer'.

Attending partners will also be given tips on how to tap the evolving market of bandwidth management, mainly in enterprises and service providers segments in India.

Cubix has been selling Allot products for close to two years now, but it was only recently that the company was appointed as its sole national distributor.

"Earlier, Allot was managing all its sales and marketing activities in India directly. But now that we are the national distributor of the company, we will try to increase the awareness amongst enterprise customers who are the principal clientele for these products," said Sreeji Peethambaran, Marketing Manager, Cubix Micro Systems.

Currently Cubix has two technology divisions–data center management solutions comprising Aten products, and technology integration division comprising Allot and two other brands.

"The current revenue contribution of these divisions is 50:50, but over time we expect the technology integration division to tip the scales higher," noted Peethambaran. Already, Allot has started chipping in well to Cubix's overall revenue, bringing in close to Rs 4.5 crore in business annually.

Cubix is now beefing up its service infrastructure to offer improved support to its principal brands. It is directly present in seven locations currently and offers support through a network of independent service engineers as well.
