CSS Group enters Australian Market

CHENNAI: San Jose-based IT services group Cybernet Software Systems (CSS) Group, with offshore facilities here, has announced its foray into the Australian market with the setting up of a 100% subsidiary, CSS Australia Pty. Ltd.

CSS has also opened up a full-fledged office in Melbourne. Currently, CSS has presence in the US, UK, Singapore and India. CSS will focus on the Infrastructure Management space.

The CSS Group currently employs over 3000 professionals out of its offshore facilities in India and has plans to double its headcount to over 6000 in the next 12-18 months.

CSS Australia will target the BFSI, Manufacturing, Telecom and Retail verticals and is looking at acquiring six clients in the first year of its operations in Australia.

Commenting on its foray into Australia, Shiva Ramani, Co-Founder, CSS Group, said, “Australia is a mature IT market, and our plan is to aggressively target several high potential segments. There is a big market opportunity for software testing and support services in Australia.”

Ramani added, “We believe that Australia has the potential to be our largest market in the Asia Pacific region and we hope to make it the hub of our APAC operations. We expect Australia to eventually contribute 10% of the CSS Group's service revenue.”

Recently, Softbank Asia Infrastructure Fund (SAIF) Partners, one of APAC's largest private equity funds, invested $22.5 million in the CSS Group.
