CSS enters Middle East IT services market

CHENNAI, INDIA: Cybernet-SlashSupport (CSS), a chennai-based provider in tech support, software testing and remote infrastructure management (RIM) services, today announced that it has forayed into the Middle East IT services market, with specific focus on Muscat and Dubai.

It kicked off its expansion in the Middle East region with performance engineering deals from two of the largest banks in the region, said a press release.

Shiva Ramani, chief executive officer, Cybernet-SlashSupport said, “large enterprises, public sector organizations and the emergence of mid-sized companies, looking to adopt an aggressive IT policy, are expected to provide opportunities for us to tap into, in this market.”

According to him, the Middle East region is currently facing a shortage of skills in areas such as networking, application and implementation. “Given this scenario, we believe there is a lot of potential for IT services to be executed by Indian firms,” he said.

Software Testing, Lotus Notes, Websphere and RIM services market is estimated to be in excess of $2 billion. Overall IT spending in Middle East market was over $10 billion last year, with over 60 per cent on hardware and 12 per cent on software, said the press release.

Cybernet-SlashSupport is also looking at the marketing partnership route to expand its presence in the Middle East.
