Creators can now earn on the Clubhouse App with this payment feature!

The Clubhouse app is a new type of social media that promotes only audio conversations. That’s right – when you open the app you can see “rooms” full of people talking. They can start a conversation on their favourite topic and raise a hand for a turn to talk. According to the developers, the Clubhouse app promotes meeting new people around the world—to tell stories, ask questions, debate, learn, and have impromptu conversations on thousands of different topics. The year-old social audio app currently values about $1 billion.

In a recent blog post, the company has announced a new monetization feature, Clubhouse Payments. This feature will allow users to send money to their favourite creators (or speakers), on the platform. The company has now started rolling out its payment receipt feature in parts. The company said, “All users will be able to send payments today, and we’ll be rolling out the ability to receive payments in waves, starting with a small test group today. We hope to collect feedback, fine-tune the feature, and roll it out to everyone soon.”

Here’s how you can pay to your favourite content creators

To send a payment in Clubhouse, just tap on the profile of a creator (who has the feature enabled) and tap "Send Money". Then, enter the amount you would like to send them. The first time you do this, it will ask you to register a credit or debit card. But 100% of the payment will go to the creator. The person sending the money will also be charged a small card processing fee, which will go directly to its payment processing partner, Stripe.

“This is first of many features that allow creators and to monetise directly on Clubhouse. We are excited to see how people use it. We continue working hard to help the amazing members of the Clubhouse community grow and thrive,” the company stated.
