BANGALORE: The MathWorks Inc. of the US and Cranes Software International
Ltd. have launched release 12 of the Matlab range of software. Matlab release 12
features a new desktop front and a portfolio of integrated tools that provide
users easy access to Matlab’s math, analysis, visualization and programming
power. New tools simplify common tasks such as importing data, performing quick
analyses and creating graphics, said a company release. In addition, Matlab
release 12 provides new optimizations to its core matrix computing and signal
processing engines, and access to hardware devices and Java directly from Matlab.
Speaking about the product, Cranes Software co-founder and vice chairman Asif
Khader said, "Users gain fast math functions with Lapack based matrix
computations and enhanced FFT implementations for signal and image processing.
Release 12 includes new test and measurement tools to communicate with external
hardware and instruments."
Cranes Software is headquartered in Bangalore and has a regional office in
Delhi. The company, with a turnover of Rs 8.5 crore, has around 100
professionals working for it. Cranes has been the exclusive distributor of The
MathWorks since 1994 for the Matlab range software in India and Sri Lanka.
