Cranes launches Varsity center in Hyd

HYDERABAD: Cranes Software International Ltd. (CSIL), a scientific and engineering software solutions company, has launched Cranes Varsity center and its product & marketing sales office at Hyderabad. "Cranes customers would now have direct access to the entire scientific and engineering product range & high end training from Cranes Varsity. We have already invested more than Rs 60 lakh in setting up the infrastructure for Hyderabad operations for the company," said, Pradeep Kumar, Senior Vice President at Cranes.



Cranes Varsity, a resource center for scientific & Engineering excellence, was established in 1998 in Bangalore. "In view of the ever increasing demand for trained professionals in the areas of Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Real Time Operating System (RTOS) and Mathematical Modeling & Simulation (MM&S) both in the domestic & international markets we have decided to in for expansion and opening of Hyderabad center is a step towards that direction," he explained.



After Hyderabad, the company is looking at establishment of similar resource centers at Chennai, Pune, Chandigarh and Mumbai within a period of two years. "Setting up of a resource center in Hyderabad was the obvious choice, as the city not only has a good communication infrastructure but also hosts a fairly large portion of the R&D sector like ECIL, DRDO and the engineering colleges," he added.



Manned by nine professionals from Cranes, the resource center at Hyderabad would hold labs with higher end software used for scientific and engineering purpose, networked systems, well-equipped hardware & test labs. The resource center would also hold an extensive library to help engineering students help update their skill sets with the latest from the technology world. This apart, Crares Varsity provides a blend of internal and visiting lectures with rich experience from the industry and academicians.



Cranes Varsity offers its training services to engineering students, graduates and software professionals in the areas of DSP, RTES and MM&S for varying duration.



The trainee receives hands-on experience on in-house professional faculty and visiting faculty from other academic institutions as well as experts from the industry. "We have three courses in the three areas of DSP, RTES and MM&S and the cost of each course is between Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000," he informed.
