Cranes intros NISA version15

BANGALORE: Cranes Software International Ltd, a provider of scientific and engineering products and solutions, has released the enhanced version of NISA v15, for the finite analytical engineers.

Cranes acquired the numerical simulation and analytical product, NISA from a US-based Engineering Mechanics Research Corporation (EMRC) in 2005 at the closure stage. The R&D center in Bangalore developed the enhanced version NISA v15 from conception to delivery. It features user interface- made for windows platform, seismic capabilities, and interoperability with other software in CAD and CA space.

“NISA helps the manufacturer to cut cost in producing an expensive prototype by just simulating the functioning of the product on a computer, qualify the product in the working scenario and then go for manufacturing,” says Ravi Singh, associate vice president, global technical marketing, Cranes Software.

“NISA v15 for Linux platform will also be launched shortly,” Singh added.

Presently addressing only a niche market, the company is now eyeing to tap the needs of the small and medium enterprises. The company is planning to develop a shorter version of NISA to address the requirements of the small markets.

“SME is going to be the next target and product will be customized based on their requirements,” said Pradeep Kumar MK, senior vice president, Cranes Software.

“Apart from Finite Element Analysis (FEA) NISA also offers Computer Engineering Services (CES) to clients in different domain. The CES potential market is $1-3 billion and the company aspire to address this potential market and to be a $20 million company in next few years,” Kumar added.

Some of its customers include BHEL, TVS, Ashok Leyland, Dunlop Tyers, and DRDO. Railways, Marine and Aerospace sectors also use its products at different stages.

Cranes Software started as a reseller company, forayed into product development in 2000 and now derives 80 per cent of its revenue from products. Presently the company owns 14 products and is also planning to acquire more products dealing with analysis and engineering services.
