has announced that its CP Directory Server has been chosen by the Government of
India, for the repository of digital certificates for providing Internet
services to the country's communications industry.
Critical Path won this as part of a consortium of technology companies headed

integrator for the Finance sector in India. The winning consortium also included
SmartTrust, which will be supplying the security and certificate management

The CP Directory Server will be used as the repository for the National Root
Certifying Authority, which will ultimately enable companies and individuals to
use digital certificates to provide legally binding signatures for secure
Internet transactions.
The Directory Server provides a central, unified data repository for user
profiles, digital certificates and other critical data. Deployed in some of the
