LONDON, UK: The reason for the disruption in BlackBerry Email and messaging service is the result of a 'core switch failure', according to an AP report.

The technical glitches that have plagued BlackBerry users around the world for the second day.
The glitch was due to a failure within the company's own infrastructure. A transition to a back-up switch did not function as tested, causing a large backlog of data, AP reported quoting RIM sources.
