Convergent launches Motorola Vanguard routers

BANGALORE: Convergent Communications India Pvt. Ltd. has launched the

Motorola Vanguard 7300 family of multi-service routers in India. According to

the company, the 7300 series of routers can provide up-to 840 voice ports and

concentration of 2,500 ports in a single fault tolerant chassis based on the

industry standard, the Compact PCI platform. Together with the 6400 series and

widely used 320 multi-service routers, the 7300 series is said to be ideal for

large Call Center applications and National Long Distance service providers.






The Vanguard 7300 family provides convergence of voice and data applications,
QoS (Quality of Service) parameters providing greater flexibility and

consolidation of networking resources into one.

The Vanguard 7300 family consists of 2 distinct products — the Vanguard

7310 and Vanguard 7330. The 7310 and 7330 offers Standard 19" rack, fully

interchangeable cards with hot swap insertion and removal capabilities.

The 7330 is 8 slot, 8U high, with automatic built in power supply redundancy,

128Mb memory for configuration files, active operating software and 32Mb flash

memory. The 7310 is a 5 slot, 3U single power supply chassis.
