Continuous Computing opens R&D facility in B'lore

NEW DELHI: Telecom infrastructure provider Continuous Computing Corporation has opened an R&D facility in Bangalore.

The company is a global provider of Network Service-Ready Platforms that enable telecom equipment manufacturers to rapidly deploy converged communications.

According to a company statement, the new Bangalore facility would enhance the company's presence in India and provide space for customer meetings, corporate events and future growth.

The company opened an India office in July 2004 with 10 employees. It currently employs over 80 software and hardware developers.

Continuous Computing's new 23,000 square feet high-tech India facility is expected to help attract top engineering and sales talent.

Pradeep Malhotra, Continuous Computing's vice president and managing director said: "We are committed to our operations in India, and we expect to spend approximately $10 million over the next three years. This new Bangalore facility serves as Continuous Computing's flagship India location for Trillium protocol software development and is also our base for pre- and post-sales support for key India and Asia-based telecom equipment manufacturer customers."

Continuous Computing has five other key strategic office locations in Asia.

The company began building its Asia Pacific presence in Seoul, Korea in February 2003, and later made further investments in the region with the opening of a Tokyo office in November.

In mid-2004, the company opened its first China office in Shanghai and then subsequently expanded into Beijing and Shenzhen in July 2005 through the acquisition of key people, products, and technology from China-based UP Technologies (China), Ltd.

These six Asia office locations now employ over 200 employees and serve Continuous Computing's customers in the region's prospering telecom market.
