CHENNAI, INDIA: Confed-ITA executive committee meeting was held recently at Dindigul. At the meeting, it was decided that new office bearers of Confed-ITA will be nominated by the second week of November.
During the meeting, president and members of the association voiced their concerns over the slow progress of the SOUL project. Members insisted that all the vendors should implement the SOUL project and the modus operandi should be best left to each vendor that will suit the company’s system and practice. Also discussed were efforts at approaching the vendors to persuade them to implement the SOUL project.
Confed-ITA had insured its members of Rs 2,00,000 for accidental deaths/disablement and Rs 50,000 for hospitalization expenses due to accidents. At the meeting, it was proposed to increase the insurance cover to Rs 3,00,000 and Rs 1,00,000. In addition to this, possibility of providing mediclaim cover to all Confed-ITA members was also explored.
At the meeting, a report was submitted by Gopalakrishnan, Partner, Emerald Inffosys, Coimbatore, and a member of Coimbatore Information Technology Association (CITA), to explore the possibility of Confed-ITA becoming an Arbitration Council under the Micro Small and Medium Industries Development Act. If Confed-ITA becomes such a body, payment issues between vendors/dealers and between Confed-ITA members, pending beyond 45 days, can be solved at Confed-ITA level.
The third summit of Confed-ITA will be held between Dec 19-20, 2009 at Yercaud, Munnar.
