Comsat Max is joint VSAT vendor for DSE

BANGALORE: The Delhi Stock Exchange (DSE) has appointed Comsat Max, a joint venture (JV) of the US-based Comsat International and Max India Ltd., as the joint vendor for supplying VSAT connections to the bourse.



The DSE is at present sourcing these connections from Hughes Escorts Communications Ltd., which was appointed in 1997 as their sole supplier to the exchange. The exchange authorities have given an order to install 250 VSAT connections in various cities to Comsat Max out of which 70 connections have already been activated till date, Comsat Max Chief Executive Officer Sudipta K. Sen said. "With the installation of these 250 additional VSAT connections, the total number of such connections will go up to 410 and the total number of DSE terminals is likely to cross 1000 mark in the near future,'' President DSE Ashok Aggarwal said.



"DSE has plans to cover 70 cities by the end of this fiscal. The exchange has already installed its terminals in 63 cities including Mumbai. Amongst seven new cities to be added to the list include Kanpur, Shri Ganganagar, Agra, Meerut and Bikaner,'' Mr. Aggarwal said.
