The Test Factory provides outsourced testing service providers a comprehensive and industrialized solution to help resolve a range of complex business challenges, including those driven by rapid growth and increased competitive pressures, Compuware said in a statement.

“The demand for offshore outsourced testing services is booming. Firms are sending testing offshore in the hopes of saving money, reducing time-to-market, improving their testing processes, and ultimately improving quality,” stated Stephanie Moore, vice president, Forrester Research. “The benefits of offshore testing are real.”

Nasdaq-listed Compuware’s Test Factory supports all aspects of managing and delivering quality assurance services by offering a comprehensive testing operations platform.

“This solution offers complete demand and resource management automation enabling testing organizations to efficiently manage their projects and people while increasing visibility into project performance and improving software quality,” the statement added.

Compuware developed Test Factory over the past five years to accommodate its aggressive internal product development and testing needs. With a software development group that creates hundreds of new product releases on an annual basis, a Test Factory approach was necessary to gain efficiencies and to maximize quality.

“The Test Factory enables us to customize and automate our QA processes and supplies the management metrics required to continuously improve the unit, integration, and system testing process specific to each product line,” said Kevin Cowsill, senior vice president, Compuware Testing Integration Center.

Meanwhile, IT services company Atos Origin and Compuware had also announced the worldwide implementation of the Test Factory solution.

Compuware said in a separate statement that the solution will roll out over the next three years to standardize testing tools, processes and procedures used by more than 20,000 Atos employees worldwide.
