PUNE: Pune-based Compulink Systems Pvt Ltd, developer and provider of web- based integrated process and project management solutions, has opened up a product support center to offer 24x7 support for its customers of ProjectByNet - an integrated process and project management application.

ProjectByNet helps manage projects and software engineering practices. It is a scalable product and can be used by both small and large customers depending on the pricing.

Compulink's new product support center is equipped to provide its Indian, as well as overseas customers, flexible support packages from earlier 8x5 model to 24x7 for consulting, operational support as well as customization of its flagship product - ProjectByNet. The center consists of 20 people at the help desk. The numbers would be scaled up according to requirements.

Explaining the rationale behind this new product support center, Compulink CEO Vishwas Mahajan said, "Our rapidly growing customer base coupled with the increase in footprint of our customer locations necessitates round-the-clock customized support packages to our esteemed ProjectByNet customers. We will continue with such strategic initiatives considering the market requirements."

He said that Compulink has licensed ProjectByNet and other products to customers in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai as part of company's strategy to expand its overseas customer base. The current ProjectByNet installed base consists of over 13,000 users.

Mahajan said that in addition to being sold directly, the product was also being sold through partners like Wipro and Patni." We are pretty gung ho about the partner strategy and believe this would give our product a wider reach. We have already signed up with Deloitte and QAI Software in addition to a local partner in Hong Kong. This would create a network effect and offer a better reach to the market," he said.

The Rs 10 crore company recently received investments from National Venture Capital Fund for Software and IT set up by Ministry of Information and Technology to the tune of Rs four crore. So far, about 50 percent of the company revenues come from India. But Mahajan was pretty optimistic that with the set up for the international market in place, the Indian component could come down to 25 percent. "We have already done a soft launch of the product in UK and hope to do a similar launch in US this March. A local partner is being sought in Dubai as well."

The company plans to invest in an Rs five crore facility at Hinjwadi sometime next year accommodating around 200 professionals. It has invested Rs 50 lakh for the testing center.
