Declaring the same, Pawan Jajodia, President, Compass said, “The elections will be held on September 19 following the AGM. The nomination filing will begin shortly and will end on September 13.”

The present president, Pawan Jajodia has already made it clear that he is not seeking a second tenure this time wishing to see new faces taking the lead in the market. The announcement has ensured that deliberations have begun on who the next leader of Compass can be. Expecting that the association carries on its goodwill and helps address dealers concern, PL Suhasaria of Caltron said, “This time, whoever becomes the president or thinks of becoming one should realize that he has to allot time amidst his schedule and work towards the betterment of Compass.”

Sources in Compass said that there is consensus on preparing a ‘new generation batch’ to take the lead in association activities. During his tenure Jajodia has encouraged new faces to take the lead when the Executive Committee was appointed last time.

One of the senior Compass members opined, “New faces must be given the priority. Veterans must realize that new faces need to be given a lead so that a fresh new batch can emerge to take Compass to a new high. Veterans need to guide the new faces and should advise over the deliberations rather than compete for portfolios”.

However, many members would also like to actively look for guidance from its past presidents and portfolio holders and thus would want that some old faces are considered for important portfolios.

Last year, Compass had taken taken the initiative of mediating in credit fund crisis and settling debts amongst the dealers. Although the association refused to divulge details on the cases, it claimed that Compass has settled Rs 23 lakh debt crisis and then Rs 1 crore credit crunch in the market. Compass has been addressing dealers’ issues and concerns over the years and its annual expo is counted as one of the biggest IT events in eastern India. Most association members are happy and content with the initiatives that have been taken, it now needs to be seen whether Compass inducts ‘fresh’ faces within the association when allocating important portfolios or repeats a genre of ‘veterans’ to help take Compass to a new high.
