Compaq India unveils Windows 2000-based products

BANGALORE: Following Compaq’s global announcement of its partnership with Microsoft for Windows 2000, Compaq India unveiled a complete suite of Windows 2000-based services. In addition, Compaq is also said to have trained an elite workforce of more than 1,000 highly skilled solutions architects and experienced program managers Worldwide–with over 50 of them in India--to help customers successfully plan, design, implement, and manage the introduction of Windows 2000.

"As the only Worldwide Prime Integrator for Windows 2000, we have the complete life-cycle services portfolio as well as an unbeatable track record with Microsoft products. Compaq professional and customer services organizations are in a position to deliver a globally consistent level of service quality to the Indian enterprise starting today."

With a global workforce of more than 27,000 service and support professionals--3,200 of which are either Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers or Microsoft Certified Solutions Developers--Compaq claims that it is uniquely positioned to support customers all over the world as they migrate and use the new Windows 2000 operating system. Over the past few years, Compaq has migrated more than 5.5 million seats to Exchange and millions to the Windows NT operating system. The company has already migrated more than 14,000 users to the Windows 2000 Professional Workstation at Compaq itself.
