PUNE: Gerard Rego, VP, GM, Head of India Operations for MSC Software is all happy and smiling. He has joined the sterling league of Pune Super Achiever Awards instituted by ASM Institute of Business Management & Research this year and MSC Software India is simulating its bright growth curve in India.

"The award is a recognition of our small effort. I am pleased to accept this award on behalf of my team. The recognition is significant to both my personal mission and professional ambition to chart the path of a global product team to next generation products and technologies."

The aim of contributing to the next generation basket of solutions for MSC Software is something that keeps Rego excited and in action. And India seems to be at a special point to contribute strategically to this next generation club.

"It's not a cake walk. Our software belongs to a complex genre." Rego sees India at a significant point on the company's overall strategic goal roadmap, as part of overall business strategy and product development.

He says, "Our India operations are growing well, we took a brave decision to come here sometime ago and that brought me to India. The decision has paid off well." Rego says that what he enjoys most is mentoring people, "About 10 to 15 per cent of my time is spent in mentoring and I love that."

The company, which is headquartered in California is engaged in developing virtual development tools and enterprise simulation software.

In India the company is housed in the facility of Geometrix to which it outsourced its work while commencing its operations in India.

"Given a compatible product culture, Geometrix still continues to be a ready pool of infrastructure and resources. MSC Software is operational in India as a 100 per cent subsidiary though," Said Rego.
