COLT picks Kankan to head new India center

NEW DELHI: COLT Technology Services India, the wholly owned subsidiary of COLT Telecom Group Plc, announced the appointment of Anshuman (Andy) Kankan as its country head.

COLT, a pan-European provider of business communications services, has recently commenced operations at its facility in India to provide high-end technical support functions to its customers worldwide. Kankan has a fifteen-year track record of success in leading financial and BPO companies worldwide.



As the country head for COLT's India operations, Kankan will be part of the leadership team and an active contributor to the strategy of the organization. He will be responsible for developing offshore operations, establishing high quality standards and developing a strong team of professionals.



Richard Adams, Chief Operations Officer, COLT Technology Services said, "Andy brings with him vital skills and rich domain experience to support our growth plans in India. I am certain his capabilities and experience in setting up and managing successful businesses will prove a valuable asset to the organization and we welcome him on board."



Kankan joins COLT from Ephinay, where he was instrumental in securing significant funds for the company as the founder and head of operations. His professional success is highlighted with the diverse responsibilities and accomplishments across financial and BPO sectors.



Andy began his career with Price Waterhouse Coopers and subsequently held various senior roles with blue chip companies such as GE Capital India, GE Capital Corp (US), GE Capital International Services (GECIS) and Grolier. A chartered accountant, he gained an MBA degree (Finance & MIS) from the Bowling Green State University, Ohio, USA, and a degree in Economics from St. Stephen's College, New Delhi.



Kankan said, "I am looking forward to my new role at COLT, working to establish India as a center of excellence to support COLT's business goals."
