Cognizant wins order from shipping major

MUMBAI: Cognizant has announced a one-year services agreement to provide IT infrastructure management for Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a global specialist in ocean, inland and supply chain management.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen operates over 60 modern vessels and 600 vehicle transporters across five continents and is a key client for Cognizant's infrastructure services practice. Cognizant also provides IT operations, help desk support and consulting services such as IT infrastructure assessment, platform migration and upgrades.

"Wallenius Wilhelmsen has selected Cognizant to help reduce its management and maintenance costs for all of its global IT operations, while maintaining high service levels," said CIO at Wallenius Wilhelmsen Reidar Hauge. "Our strategy is to apply a focused approach aimed at producing business value from IT and gaining significant systems performance returns. Cognizant's flexible services model and deep technology expertise allows us to reduce our costs while enabling us to leverage our IT infrastructure to support," he added.
