CHENNAI: The US-based software services firm Cognizant Technology Solutions
Corp said on Monday that it has been picked by US brewer Adolph Coors' Coors
Brewing Co as its e-business development partner.
"Cognizant will work with Coors on strategic e-business initiatives
which will help Coors collaborate in real-time with its distributor
community," the firm said in a statement in Chennai. Cognizant, which
specializes in e-business and application management, does most of its software
development at nine offshore centres in India, five of which are in Chennai.
Cognizant's chief financial officer, Gordon Coburn told reporters at a
conference call from Teaneck, New Jersey, the Coors project would earn the firm
a revenue of about $2 million a year.
The firm said it had already developed and delivered an e-business platform
CoorsNet, which was improving the No 3 US brewer's distribution, sales and
marketing network and also supporting key functions like order management and
merchandising.
"We have transformed the way beer distributors work with Coors by
helping Coors dramatically improve the effectiveness of their sales and
marketing programs," the statement quoted Cognizant chairman and chief
executive Kumar Mahadeva as saying.
