NEW DELHI, INDIA: Even as the Bhartiya Janta Party halts Parliament over coalgate and goes offensive over UPA-II government, the PMO to defend Prime Minster Manmohan Singh's stand tweeted aggressively.

This is in fact the first occasion when the PM's official Twitter account sent 20 tweets in a row. CAG, in its Rs 1.86 lakh crore presumptive loss figure, puts the Congress-led government in dock.

As the PM's statement went futile in the Parliament yesterday, PMO tweets the gist of the matter: ''hazaron jawabo se acchi hai meri khamoshi, na jaane kitne sawaalo ki aabroo rakhi.''  (It's better to be silent to save the dignity of several questions)

In defense, PMO attributing to Singh said: ''The CAG says that bidding could have begun in 2006 by amending the existing system administratively. This premise of the CAG is flawed.''
