CMDA organizes first management seminar

PUNE, INDIA: Pune's Computer and Media Dealers Association (CMDA) conducted its first management seminar on September 20, 2008 for its members. Around 70 members gathered at the ICC Towers for this event, despite heavy rainfall in the region.

The theme of the session was 'Road to success'. Shashikant Satbhai, Secretary of CMDA said, “We organized this seminar because most of our members are first generation entrepreneurs who do not have formal training in business. Such sessions give them the needed knowledge to grow their business. We received good response from the audience.”

The seminar was led by Dwarak Jalan, owner of Jalan Constructions, an active member of Rotary Club and a self-made entrepreneur.

The other topics of discussion were having the right attitude, the value of team work and challenges that every organization faces when it comes to business management.

“Jalan is a highly experienced person in the management domain. He educated our members on how to improve their business skills and knowledge of management. Stress relief was another major topic he discussed in the seminar. He showed some movie clips like Lagaan and Sholay and tried to relate those instances to our practical life,” said, Shital Nahar President of CMDA.

The executive members of CMDA have decided to conduct the second seminar in December, 2008. They also intend to organize workshops outside Pune in the future for CMDA members considering the response of the members who attended the first session.

The board members will shortly discuss about conducting practical workshops for the association members to improve the their business skills and improve their as knowledge about management.
