CMC names S Mahalingam as additional director

MUMBAI, INDIA: CMC, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services, announced that the company’s Board of Directors has appointed S Mahalingam, executive director and chief financial officer of Tata Consultancy Services Limited, as additional director with effect from Thursday.

Mahalingam joined TCS in 1970 and was appointed as its CFO in 2003. He joined the Board of Directors of TCS in September, 2007.

“As the CFO of TCS, Mahalingam has been spending considerable time in guiding CMC management towards achieving its objective and bringing financial discipline in the Company, and I am sure that his deep understanding of CMC’s operations and extensive experience in IT Industry will enrich the deliberations of the CMC Board,” said S. Ramadorai, chairman, CMC.

Ishaat Hussain has stepped down from the CMC board and joined the Board of Directors of Tata Consultancy Services Limited. “The board would like to thank Hussain for his guidance and counsel to CMC during the last eight years,” Ramadorai added.

With the addition of Mahalingam, there are six directors on the CMC board including three independent directors. Other directors are S Ramadorai, R Ramanan, Dr. KRS Murthy, Surendra Singh and Kalpana Morparia.
