MUMBAI, INDIA: Cloud computing is the revolution in IT industry and the technology is holding the key to enterprise call for new computing architecture, according to Gaurav Mohan, VP Channels and Distribution, Huawei Telecommunications.
He was delivering a speech on 'Imperatives of Cloud Computing' at 'Cloud Computing World Forum India' here.
“As we accelerate in our journey to a connected world with convergence-friendly devices, there is an exponential growth in the amount of data which is being handled by enterprises innovative usage of cloud computing technology is best poised to address the pressure on e2e infrastructure,” said Gaurav.

By the year 2020, he added, there will be more than 50 billion devices and 100 per cent video will be delivered in High Definition. IT architecture would be required to change and adapt itself in order to incorporate this rich content.
“I believe that cloud computing is the revolution in IT industry that will play a major role in terms of making this change a reality,” he explained.
Talking about the unique value proposition that is being delivered by cloud computing, Gaurav said that cloud computing is best suited for the current environment. “With cloud computing, enterprise customers hold a big chance of gaining on a big competitive edge as it gives them a chance to lower their TCO and at the same time, provide them with flexibility and scalability in their operations.”

With a focus on delivering the best value to the enterprise segment, cloud Computing is at the core of Huawei’s ICT strategy. “We have an end-to-end cloud strategy. We have components for cloud, pipe and devices as well. This way we are in the best position to deliver a unique proposition to our enterprise users.”
Headded that they have solutions that can help customers migrate telecom, work as well as billing and operating support system to the cloud.
