In addition, STI is the first Cloakware partner to offer CSPM as a managed security service to small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMB), enabling a level of security, cost savings and efficiency previously out of this market’s reach.

Many organizations manage user passwords but now struggle to control and manage administrator access to privileged passwords and to eliminate passwords hard-coded into applications. Privileged and hard-coded passwords are commonly known as “shared” or “service account” passwords. If left unmanaged, they pose a significant security and compliance risk. By partnering with Cloakware to offer customers CSPM, STI solves the shared account password management (SAPM) problem with an enterprise-class solution.

“Our customers count on us to identify emerging security threats, research the best technologies for addressing critical issues and deliver solutions in a manner that fits within their business model,” said Joe Oster, president of STI. “Cloakware and its CSPM product support STI in further delivering upon our mission to offer companies the most complete and adaptable solutions possible for protecting and managing information assets. With CSPM, our customers will have peace of mind when it comes to managing privileged and application-to-application passwords.”

CSPM is the first commercial off-the-shelf product to allow IT managers to centrally and securely change all types of shared account passwords. All passwords are changed from one interface automatically, eliminating the risk of distributing passwords and maintaining scripts manually. CSPM helps organizations meet the most demanding regulatory compliance requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, Payment Card Industry, Federal Information Security Management Act, and other legislation.

“Part of what makes STI so successful is its ability to maintain a laser-like focus on customer needs,” said David Canellos, Cloakware executive vice president, worldwide sales. “Because of this, STI is recognized as an award-winning, industry leader in finding targeted solutions to meet emerging security demands from municipalities, financial institutions and corporations. By adding CSPM to its portfolio, as well as investing in the training to offer accompanying support services, STI continues to prove its true commitment to providing customers with the full benefits of inherent software security and automated password management.”

To help organizations understand the problems of unmanaged privileged and hard-coded passwords and how to resolve them, STI and Cloakware are offering a free seminar, “Service Account Password Management - Solutions for All-Sized Businesses”.

In this seminar, Robert Grapes from Cloakware explains the challenges of managing shared account passwords and complying with various security and business practice regulations. He also answers questions about password management and describes solutions that work for all sizes of business, from SMBs to the largest enterprises. The seminar will be held at the Casa Larga Vineyards estate in Fairport, NY on September 20, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Attendance is limited.
