According to the “The Indus Entrepreneurs” (TiE) report, around 60,000 IT professionals have moved to India from the US in recent years. People working in US see a trend of emerging opportunities in the subcontinent, as they have a significant skill-set for these companies who also have a presence in India.

“The highly valued talents in business and technology are a strategically important resource for companies looking to fill crucial positions. Hence, the job fair essentially targets professionals with specialized skills who are aspiring to return and work in India,” Bala added.

When asked about the ‘reverse brain trend’ and participating in the fair, Jan Ackerman, vice president - Recruiting APAC of Oracle said that his company believed in bringing top talent for the full life cycle product development activities in India. “We are the only MNC to have the India Development Centre to work on entire life cycle activities, which includes right from the Product Management to Product Engineering work which requires people from who have worked in similar areas from US.”

“Talent in India is more of services market-oriented, whereas Oracle is focusing purely on the product development, high-end consulting and sales consulting kinds of roles. The high-end of tech skills with product focus is majorly available with matured and happening markets like the US and hence Oracle India is looking at hiring people from US. We need people with high end technology focus who can deliver exponential value to the customers from development, consulting, support and sales perspective, and hence are looking at people who have the expertise and are willing to come back and work in India,” Ackerman added.
